About us

We are two software-engineer-turned-managers that have been building web software for almost thirty years between us.

We've managed and delivered many engineering projects: from small single team four week projects, all the way through to multi-year strategic efforts crossing product, design, sales, services, customer success and five development teams.

We've experienced the many difficulties in taking any software product from inception to delivery. And that delivery bit is hard!

We've felt the challenge of keeping groups pointed towards the outcomes, whilst giving room to allow people to fail and learn and grow.

We've tried many different approaches over the years:

• Post-it notes on a whiteboard is great for adapting, but that was bad for visibility and cross-team projects.

• We tried GitLab, brilliant for managing a sprint, but the higher-level visibility was missing.

• We tried monday.com, but there were so many tools and plugins. We thought it was good for the 'big picture', but running the day-to-day was tedious.

We couldn't find a tool that felt 'just right'. So we made flytrue.io. We hope you like it.
